Since 2013 the Academy in South Wales has raised money for The Noah’s Ark Charity for the Children Hospital for Wales. With several Academy students benefiting from this charity over the years, this is an extremely fitting charity for the Academy to support and work alongside in South Wales.
With a focus on communication skills, the Academy utilises and extends the vocal skills the students develop in the classroom and puts them into practice to raise funds towards the children’s hospital. Each year, students at the Academy take part in a ‘Sponsored Talk’ and talk for 2 – 5 minutes on a given subject. Over the years the subjects have varied from what the students would like to be when they grow up to what they would do to make the world a better place. Every year the students’ produce incredible results; with intelligent, sentimental and mature ideas put forward. On average, the sponsored talks raise over £2000.00 each year!
In 2018, the Principal and Vice Principal, Becky and Helen ran the Cardiff Half Marathon and raised £1142.00 and they have already signed up to run the Cardiff Half Marathon on behalf of the Noah’s Ark Charity in 2019.
Since 2013 the Academy in South Wales has raised over £15,000.00 towards the Noah’s Ark Charity and they are now looking forward to hitting the £20,000.00 mark!
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported this incredible charity and encouraged the Academy to raise funds for them in anyway.
